You just got a small taste of the cooler weather that is just around the corner and with it comes the changing of the seasons and the changing of the leaves. Here are four epic places you can visit with your family to usher in autumn and her sea of color.
Brasstown Bald near Blairsville
Brasstown Bald is Georgia’s highest peak, so take note to visit early. The colors will change sooner on this peak than other places in the Georgia mountains. Although it is the tallest point in the state, the hike is easy and paved, or you can take a shuttle to the pinnacle. Additionally, the surrounding areas of Blairsville offer Vogel State Park and several fun waterfalls.
Len Foote Hike Inn in Dawsonville
If you ask me, this is the best place in the state to see the colors change. Five miles into the forest from Amicalola Falls, you’ll stay the night in the bunkhouse and rise to see the sun poke her head from over the mountains. Use the Almanac to predict the best day for a visit, and then book your stay now. Rooms will fill up fast, particularly on the weekends.
Just one of the perks of living at the Horizon at Laurel Canyon is the very close proximity to the mountains, which offers inspirational mountain views daily and a quick weekend trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a short drive north to Ellijay, Jasper, or the Blue Ridge Mountains for a day or overnight trip. Visit Website
Patrick Malloy Communities will soon be starting three new basement homes in their popular golf community, Horizon at Laurel Canyon. The plans have not yet been released but you can bet that the homes will be spacious and beautifully detailed.
Amenities to Love
One thing that new home communities have going for them is the amenities. In past years, golf is becoming more and more popular. What could be better than a golf course where you live? See yourself enjoying a game of tennis, a day at the pool when it is warm or enjoying an event at the clubhouse. There is more to see at the Horizon at Laurel Canyon so click here to see amenities.
In the long run, finding a community like Horizon is the ultimate goal for many. While it is designed with the active adult in mind, Horizon is not age-restricted. The community offers all the amenities that homeowners desire.
