Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade Brings Soleil Belmont Park Together

Patriotic Golf Carts: You can learn a lot about a neighborhood by seeing what happens when residents have a reason to celebrate.

At Soleil Belmont Park, the Fourth of July brought neighbors into the streets for a patriotic parade filled with decorated golf carts, flags, balloons, festive outfits, pets, and plenty of creativity.

The parade was colorful and fun, but what stood out most was how many residents joined in. Some decorated their vehicles, others walked in the procession, and plenty of neighbors pulled up lawn chairs to watch everything pass by.

These Were Not Ordinary Golf Carts

Calling them decorated golf carts does not quite do them justice.

Residents covered golf carts, utility vehicles, and even a pickup truck with American flags, red, white, and blue fringe, balloons, stars, bunting, pinwheels, and patriotic signs.

One entry featured an enormous red, white, and blue top hat topped with a bald eagle. Another had a giant eagle stretching its wings above the vehicle. There were Uncle Sam hats, Statue of Liberty-inspired decorations, military and service flags, and displays recognizing America’s 250th anniversary.

Some residents joined the parade on foot while carrying tall columns of red, white, and blue balloons. Every entry had its own personality, and people clearly had fun trying to make theirs stand out.

A plain flag on the front bumper was apparently not going to cut it this year.

Even the Pets Joined In

At least one four-legged resident rode comfortably in a decorated golf cart while wearing a patriotic bandana covered in stars.

The dog looked completely at ease taking in the activity along the route. Apparently, being chauffeured through the neighborhood in a decorated golf cart is not a bad way to spend the Fourth of July.

Pets are an important part of life for many residents, so it was fitting to see one included in the celebration.

Neighbors Had a Front-Row Seat

Residents gathered along the streets in lawn chairs while the procession traveled through Soleil Belmont Park.

Neighbors waved, cheered, took pictures, and called out to friends as the parade passed.

There was no need to drive across town, hunt for parking, or squeeze into a crowded public event. The celebration came right through the neighborhood.

That made the day feel relaxed and personal. The people riding in the parade knew many of the people watching, and those small exchanges—waves, smiles, jokes, and quick conversations—helped make the event memorable.
