What could be better then kicking off the holiday season in Historic Roswell? Join us for a festive celebration on Friday, Dec. 6th, 6 to 8 pm at Heart of Roswell Park! Roswell’s annual lighting of the Christmas tree promises to be a delightful event filled with holiday cheer and joy for all ages. This enchanting occasion brings the community together, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that embodies the spirit of the season.
Event highlights include choral performances featuring local choirs singing your favorite holiday tunes, which will fill the air with festive melodies. Attendees can warm up with steaming cups of hot chocolate and gather around cozy fire pits, perfect for enjoying s’mores, a classic seasonal treat. Adding to the magic of the evening, live reindeer will be on display, bringing a touch of Christmas wonder. A special reading of the beloved holiday classic, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, will be performed by Mayor Kurt Wilson, while children will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus and share their holiday wishes. The event culminates in the spectacular lighting of the 40-foot Christmas tree, a sight sure to bring smiles and joy to all.
The event will take place at Heart of Roswell Park, with street closures in effect to enhance the festive spirit. Canton Street, from Norcross Street to Magnolia Street, will close at 5 pm, and Elizabeth Way will close at 2 pm.
